FAQ
Do I have to bring my furniture to you?
Recovery Room Upholstery owns it's own truck, and offers free local pick-up and delivery. If you live more than 15 miles from our shop, we do charge a fee for this service. Please call for information.
Do you clean upholstered furniture?
Recovery Room Upholstery does not do upholstery cleaning, however we do have a cleaning service we recommend. Please call Castle Cleaning Systems at 262-554-8040 for a quality cleaning job.
Do you do window treatments?
We don't make draperies, however we do make custom cornice boards padded and covered to compliment your decor. Cornices can be straight along the bottom edge, or shaped to your taste.
Can you change the style of my piece?
Many times we are able to change the way your piece looks. Some options include re-styling the cushions, using a different treatment on the skirt, and changing the legs or casters. Depending on the frame, we may be able to change the height of the back, or the shape of the arm. Call us with your ideas.
Do you do anything with the wood trim on my furniture?
When your furniture goes through our process we clean the wood and oil it with a scratch covering furniture oil. In the case of teak wood, we use a teak oil recommended by top scandinavian furniture suppliers. If nessesary we can refinish the wood trim. We take care of small refinishing projects in our shop, but if there is a substantial amount of refinishing, we send it out to a professional refinishing shop.
Do you do repairs?
Our workroom does repairs of many kinds including re-glueing, replacing zippers in cushions, replacing broken springs, replacing rubber webbing straps. If it needs repairing, we can probably help.
Do you work with leather?
Yes, we do work with leather on occasion. We have several suppliers that carry quality leather hides, and you can see samples of them in our showroom.
How long does it take to get something recovered?
Our backlog of sold projects varies, so please call for our current status. We generally don't pick up your furniture until we are ready to begin working on it. Once your project is picked up by us, you should see it back in your home in a couple of weeks.
Do you replace the foam in the cushions?
We carry replacement foam in various densities for your comfort. Many times it is best to replace the foam at the time of recovering. When we make new foam cushions, they are wrapped with a dacron batting which gives a nice plump look, and protects the foam from the air, which prolongs it's life. We also offer spring, or marshall, units for authenticity when recovering an antique.
Do you have fabric samples?
At Recovery Room Upholstery you are able to choose from thousands of fabric samples to complete your decorating project. Among our quality fabric suppliers are Fabricut, Barrow Industries, Greenhouse Fabrics, RM COCO, and more.
How do I know if my furniture is worth recovering?
If your sofa, or chair has a good frame, it's well worth reupholstering. The essential element in the structure is the wooden skeleton inside, and if it's solid, there's no point in buying a new one. Many times your old frame is constructed better than the new, imported furniture that is flooding the market today. Our experts here at Recovery Room Upholstery can tell you if you have such a frame.
